The Origin of Japanese Tea

Philosophy
Tea has been a part of Japanese culture for thousands of years. Every place in Japan offers tea to customers, from exquisite ryokan to late night ramen bar. It is a drink for all occasions, signifying welcoming and acceptance, and is intertwined deeply in all aspects of Japan from the sweets to the rituals and ceremonies.

To drink tea is to contemplate and reflect - to be still and to savour the moment. More than a mere drink, tea is the essence of Japan. This is what we want to share with you.

100% Organic Japanese Tea
Kin will only ever sell 100% certified organic teas that are grown without any harmful pesticides or herbicides. As tea leaves are soaked whole in hot water or consumed completely as a powder, everything in the tea is absorbed into the body. This is why we believe that tea should always be organic, as nature intended.

Kagoshima, Japan
Kagoshima is the southern most city of Japan, where the warmer climate and mineral-rich volcanic soils create the perfect conditions for growing tea. It is the second largest producer of green tea in Japan. Our teas are grown in the Kagoshima countryside and carefully blended in Chiran, famous for its samurai gardens and tea production.
